Meet Justin.

A writer, curator, and storyteller with a heart for adventure, I am the multi-award-winning editor of Rapt Interviews, created the WiRE for Men devotional, and wrote the WiRE Series of Books for Men. My writing has also been featured and seen on Charisma, Moody Radio, Focus on the Family, GOD TV, The Christian Post, Crosswalk, Belief.net, LifeWay Men, and other media outlets.

Prior, I spent 15 years managing a small, early-stage Silicon Valley venture capital firm and got to invest in some amazing entrepreneurs. Before that, I did a stint at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a Wall Street law firm. In addition to a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics and Political Science.

I’ve been married to Jennifer for twenty-five years, and we have three college-aged children. Jenn is the love of my life.

Meet Jennifer.

I grew up in an almond orchard in Northern California. A former high school English teacher, I love to write and encourage people to seek and live the truth of their stories, their identities in Christ.

I am the Amazon bestselling author of Breathing Eden: On Light, Fresh Air, and New Things, Loop: What Women Need to Know, and The Uncovering, a book of poetry. My most recent essays can be found in my newsletter, Jensen Road.

I have a teaching credential from Cal and a master’s degree from Columbia University, Teacher’s College, and graduated with an English degree from UCLA.

I’ve been married to Justin for twenty-five years, and we have three children. Justin is my buddy, my best friend, my partner, the one who shares my heart for adventure and the “more” of God’s Kingdom.

Meet the team.

  • Kristin Ward

    Chief of Staff

Kristin, who has been with Gather Ministries since the very beginning, helps to manage the Gather team, create and schedule Gather’s content, maintain the ministries’ sites, keep the Gather finances on track, as well as help Jennifer and Justin keep in close contact with the Gather community. Jennifer and Justin affectionately call Kristin “the boss” and are grateful for how she helps make sure that the Gather “trains” are running on time.

Kristin’s greatest passions are her family, traveling, and finding ways to have better health & wellness. She loves focusing on details with a mind towards the bigger picture—valuing loyalty, honesty, and doing the right thing, even when it often may not be the easy option.

Kristin lives with her two children and scruffy Border Terrier outside Madison, Wisconsin.

  • David Ewing

    Creative Director

David finds great fulfillment in partnering with Gather Ministries to bring you visual content that is highly functional in utility and aesthetically rich. He believes that everyone has someone who they can reach best with the love story of Jesus. He and his team at Heave Ho! Creative are those humble storytellers. They purpose to thrive in the seas of customer/user-focused design and the pulsing breakers of business demands.

He enjoys living a life without the compartmentalization or compromise of God in the details of everything he gets to touch, both professionally and personally.

He and his family live, love, surf, and church on the shores of North San Diego beaches.

  • Jenny Rose Spaudo

    Senior Editor & Writer

Jenny Rose is a dedicated writer and content marketer with more than six years of journalism experience. Fueled by a deep love for Jesus (and altogether too much coffee!), she puts her writing skills to work at Gather Ministries with marketing copy, social media, emails, and SEO. Before working with Gather, she was online news director at Charisma Media and host of the daily Charisma News Podcast, where she learned the art of captivating storytelling. She brings her best to every writing project because she sees it as an act of worship.

When she’s not writing, Jenny Rose loves to lead worship at her local church, mentor women in the Word of God, and garden with her husband, Diego, in Central Florida.

  • Frank Montenegro

    Audio Producer

Frank, a Telly award-winning independent voice actor and audio broadcast producer, helps bring to life Gather Ministries’s vision for the Rush Podcast: Holy Spirit in Modern Life. ‘“Working with Justin and Jennifer will no doubt go down as one of the most important highlights in my career as an audio broadcast producer.”

Frank also produces Pastor Rick Warren‘s national radio broadcast, “Pastor Rick‘s Daily Hope,” which, in 2016, received the “Billy Graham award for excellence in Christian communications,“ and the newly re-launched daily national radio broadcast “Unlimited Grace,“ which features the teaching of Dr. Bryan Chapell.

Frank is an avid martial artist, weightlifter, and musician, and he also enjoys cooking. He makes his home in the California Mojave Desert with his loving wife, Sabby, and their soon-to-be-married daughter, Sophia.

  • Savannah Light

    Editor & Writer

Savannah brings extensive experience to Gather Ministries, with a strong background working in public relations for several well-known international ministries. From a PR specialist to an editing manager, her career has taken her through various communications roles, all centered around the art of storytelling — believing that’s where all effective communication starts.

Savannah’s husband, Austin, also works in ministry as a video content producer. Together, they collaborate using their entrepreneurial and creative skills, both within their church community and on various passion projects.

Living in beautiful Colorado, her greatest joys include being a mom to their daughter, Josie, camping with her family, and attempting to master the art of sourdough bread.

 Our Statement of Faith.

We believe God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He is a being of unimaginably wonderful power, goodness, and love. (Psalm 118:1; Psalm 145:1-9; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe the world exists because God created it, that it belongs to Him and therefore we should cherish and care for it. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 24:1-2; Isaiah 40:25-26; 1 Corinthians 10:26)

We believe all human beings have dignity because they were created by God in His own image, and great worth because they are valued by God beyond our ability to measure. (Genesis 1:27, 31; Psalm 8:3-6; John 3:16; Romans 5:8)

We believe this world also has pain and suffering because human beings have fallen and sinned, and are estranged from God, from each other, from ourselves, and from creation. (Genesis 3:17; Romans 3:23; Colossians 1:21; Titus 3:3)

We believe God does not intend for sin and suffering to get the last word, but is at work to redeem and reconcile what He has made. (Isaiah 11:6-9; Colossians 1:21-23; Revelation 21:1-5)

We believe God has revealed the truth about Himself in the scriptures of the Old and New Testament, which are our unique and authoritative guides in faith and action. (Matthew 4:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe God has expressed Himself uniquely in His Son Jesus, who lived, taught, died, and rose again for our sakes. Jesus is our master and teacher and savior and friend, and now reigns forever with the Father and the Holy Spirit. (John 14:6-7; Acts 2:32; 1 Corinthians. 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:13; Colossians 1:15-20; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)

We believe the Spirit of God is now available so we can be closer to God than the air we breathe. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26; Galatians 3:14;Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe the Church is the community through which God wants to bring love, healing, and growth to the human race, to which He invites everyone who is willing to follow Jesus to join. (Matthew 18:18-20; John 1:12-13; Acts 1:8; Galatians 3:28; 1 Peter 2:9)

We live in hope because one day Jesus will return, love and justice will prevail, and God will set the world right. (Matthew 24:30-31; Luke 12:40; Romans8:37-39; Revelation 21:1-5)
